Sunshine in my Cup #juice #recipe

Sometimes, particularly when the weather is chilly, you need a little sunshine in your cup. Vitamin C, fiber, potassium, folic acid, and all of that good stuff in one glass.

2 apples (cored)
1 large pear (cored)
1 honey tangerine (peel removed)

I've got to say, I really have some to love juicing tangerines specifically. They are so easy to peel, so the prep time is less than most other citrus fruits and most of the white pith stays on the flesh of the fruit.

Anywho! I alternated my fruits, ending with two quarters of apple to make sure all of my tangerine flesh has been pushed through.

This recipe makes approximately 14oz of juice, so it's great on days when all you have time for is a juice on your way out the door. The whole prep-juice-ready process takes approximately 10 minutes start to finish. Instead of reaching for a donut or something that will leave you feeling sluggish, indulge in this super yummy juice recipe!

Mighty Greens #raw #green #juice #recipe

When I was feeling sluggish around 5.5 months pregnant, I knew that my iron was probably low. It's around 20 weeks when your doctor will suggest an iron supplement, and since we hadn't gotten to that appointment just yet (it was on my list to ask) I wanted to come up with a juice recipe that would be iron rich, and delicious.

3 cups baby spinach
1 apple (cored)
1 tangerine (peeled)
3 cups baby carrots

Yes, friends...that's 9 servings of fruits and vegetables in one glass. Start with one bunch of baby spinach, followed by half an apple and half your tangerine. Then, another round of spinach, apple, tangerine and finish with all of your carrots.

The harder fruits and vegetables like carrots and apples will help push soft things like baby spinach and the tangerine flesh through the juicer to make sure you are getting the most amount of juice out of your produce.

So, this juice is packed with iron from the baby spinach, but what else are you getting? Fiber, beta carotene, vitamin C, vitamin A and potassium...just to name a few!

Enjoy!

Berry Good #raw #juice #recipe

When berries are in season, and found locally, they are oh so sweet and perfect for juicing! This recipe packs a punch with iron rich spinach and fiber packed apple!

2 apples
2 cups blueberries (rinsed)
3 handfuls strawberries (rinsed, tops removed)
2 large handfuls baby spinach

Start by juicing your baby spinach, followed by two apple halves. This will ensure that the absolute most amount of spinach gets juiced as sometimes it gets stuck. Next, juice your berries and end with the rest of your apple.

Stir and pour into a glass. I found that this recipe made about 8-9oz of fresh juice, perfect for breakfast!

Also...there's 8 servings of fruit and veg in here! Pretty amazing!

Beach Babe #raw #vegan #juice #recipe

After a few weeks of creating juices wit the same bases, it was time to branch out. I wanted to create a yummy summer juice recipe that would be awesome in cocktails, as well as delicious on its own.

2 apples
handful strawberries (rinsed and tops removed)
1 tangelo (rind removed, white pith left on)

Never heard of a tangelo? Neither had I but when I saw them in the citrus area of the produce section at the grocery store, I thought...when in Rome!

I juiced everything in the order listed above, no fancy this then that, then more of this and end with this. Straight forward and simple, this juice is sure to delight your tastebuds.

So...what's a tangelo? Well, upon doing some research it is a hybrid citrus fruit that is a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit, which explains for the rich coral color of this yummy juice recipe.

Nutrient wise, you will be getting loads of antioxidants, fiber, vitamin C. You will also be getting potassium, vitamin A, and even some calcium!

Juice up a BIG batch (this recipe makes about 6-8oz) if you're throwing a backyard bash this summer, and set it out with lemonade, tonic water, vodka and rum to create the perfect juice bar! This recipe would also be excellent for mimosa's on the morning of a summer wedding!

Lime and Beet #juice #recipe full of antioxidants!

Not only is this juice tart and tangy, it's full of antioxidants and vitamin C to keep you going throughout your day!

2 pears
3 handfuls of blue berries
1 lime (green rind removed, white pith left)
handful of beet greens

Always juice your greens first, following them with a hard vegetable or fruit like a pear, apple or carrot. For this recipe, I pushed my beet greens through with pears, followed by my blueberries and finished off with the lime.

It is tart and tangy, definitely will make your cheeks pucker, but it is absolutely delicious!

Leafy Green #juice #recipe

Good morning all! Ready to start your day with a simple green juice recipe? Here we go!

I know...you're thinking but I thought this was a green juice? It is, I swear!

1 orange
2 apples
1/2 lemon
1 pear
1 cup baby greens

The greens that you choose will impact the color of your juice. I used a sweet baby green mix that had some red lettuce and some green, hence the colour takes more queues from the other ingredients in the recipe.

Start with your greens, then follow with everything else. Swirl, and enjoy!

Zippidy-Doo-Dah #Juice #Recipe

This juice recipe is perfect for spring and summer! It is nice and light, has a great tartness from the lemon, and is full of awesome nutrients to put some pep in your step.

2 apples, cored
1/2 lemon, yellow rind removed, white pith left on for juicing
1/4 cucumber
3 handfuls of fresh blueberries

There isn't much of a method to this juice. Once you have your ingredients prepped, run them through, swirl and enjoy!

This juice has very little grit and grime to it, is light and smooth, and has a great tang from the 1/2 lemon in the recipe. I really enjoyed it, and it would make a great refreshing juice for summer! (just add vodka? That would be yummy too!!)

Tip: I find that juicing things like celery and cucumber lead to really strong green flavours, and I'm not such a fan. I have learned that by putting in smaller quantities of these ingredients, and pairing them with a citrus and apple, really helps to cut the taste, but you still get the healthy properties from the vegetable.

Happy juicing!

Beets and Berries #raw #vegan #juice #recipe

While beets turn everything in their path red, they are super healthy for you and your growing baby. Full of fiber, they aid in digestion. Mix them with apples, baby spinach and strawberries and you have one sweet sweet yummy juice!

2 cups baby spinach
1/2 beet (peeled)
2 apples (cored)
handful of strawberries (rinsed)

With my juicer, I like to push through my greens first to make sure that they get completely juiced and I can get the most benefit from them. After my baby spinach, I pushed through my apples, strawberries and beet.

I thought that the red and green combo was absolutely beautiful. I am always fascinated by what comes out of the juicer and love the vibrant colors that each fruit or vegetable produces. Swirl it all together and you have something that looks like this!

As I said, this juice is full of fiber not only from the beet but from the apples as well. You'll also be getting iron, vitamin C, antioxidants, potassium, vitamin A and selenium!

Go on with your healthy self!

Green Power #raw #juice #recipe

Today we are unleashing the power of pear, spinach, carrot and lemon in a delicious, and easy to prepare, juice recipe!

2 pears
2 cups baby spinach
2 cups baby carrot
1/2 lemon (yellow rind removed, white pith left on for juicing)

Start by pushing through all of your baby spinach, followed by one pear (cut to the size of your juicer, core removed), your carrots, the rest of your pear and then finish with your lemon.

Swirl and down the hatch!

This power juice is full of iron, beta carotene, vitamin C and potassium. The pears are full of fiber, too, so this juice is great if you're doing a cleanse to calm any tummy bloat or digestive problems.

I drank this at 20weeks pregnant to help with digestion, and it worked like a charm, plus gave me all of the healthy nutrients that I was lacking, and therefore baby was lacking.

Enjoy!
