Spring to Summer Dresses Collection #fashion

And finally, a collection of sweet dresses that are appropriate for both Spring and Summer.

Spring to Summer Dresses 2014

You know the rules...tights and a light cardigan for Spring, awesome wedge heels and lighter toned accessories for Summer!

My favourite dress from the collection above is the ice blue one on the lower left (Forever New $44). It has such beautiful details on the bodice with the eyelet fabric, and then the skirt is soft, flowy and feminine. For Spring, I would pair it with a charcoal or plum sweater, tights and flats. For Summer, wedge heels and a long side braid or loosely swept hair.

Which one is your favorite?

One Dress, Two Seasons #fashion

Take one $80 dress and make it work in two seasons. That is the challenge that I set out for myself on my editorial calendar, and I think I made it work in two very beautiful ways!

Spring to Summer Fashion 2014

On the left we have our Spring look. A beautiful nude dress with a sash detail paired with a short cinched arm structured bolero cardigan, patterned charcoal polka dot tights, and suede pumps. Add in a berry toned clutch and you have a beautiful outfit for a networking event, or even a date night!

Take that same dress, and lighten up the accessories and you have a perfectly balanced outfit for a summer wedding, brunch, baby or bridal shower...really so many events.

If you have a great base piece, like the nude dress above, there is alot that you can do with it to make it last throughout the seasons. This piece could even stretch through the fall with thicker tights, booties and a jacket!

Easter Outfits for Toddlers

With Easter celebrations right around the corner, I'm sure all of you moms are thinking about family photos, how to coordinate the kids outfits and hoping against hope that they will behave during Easter dinner at the inlaws {I know I am!!}

If you talk to any photographer, they will tell you to coordinate but not match. Pick some great complimentary colors to accent but ultimately let the personality of the individuals in the pictures shine through.

Toddler Easter Fashion 2014

The looks that we typically default to for Owen are plaid shirts, charcoal pants and sneakers. I wanted to pull together a cute boy look that had zero plaid, but lots of texture.

I love the little desert boots, with khaki's and a bright orange polo shirt. Boys rarely get to accessorize their outfits, so if you can find a great newsboy cap, scoop it up!!

For a little girl, I like the leggings under a dress look. It's cute and girly, and these leggings have a gold polka dot, which makes them pretty perfect. Taking inspiration from the orange polo, to coordinate the two looks I pulled in a large pom headband accessory. Shoes...ballet flats.

Next week I'll cover Easter fashion for mom!

Flirty Spring Fashion for 2014, #ootd

Another beautiful outfit to feature today, that is lively, fresh and full of spring!

Spring Fashion 2014

There are loads of reasons to love this outfit. As I have a thing for dresses once the weather turns warm, I was immediately drawn to this beautiful cream and black striped dress. It's one of the prettiest fit and flare dresses that I have seen around in quite a while!

And, as the Pantone Color of the Year is Radiant Orchid, what better ways to make it even trendier than to pair it with a short orchid cardigan, and a jeweled necklace?

The shoes are an offwhite with a crochet overlay, a texture that is going to be pretty huge this coming Spring and Summer so watch out for it. And the clutch! Oh my goodness, the clutch! A beautiful pop of coral for this outfit certainly makes the entire look stand out!

Spring Shoe Trends #fashion #shoes

Spring is the perfect time to bring out those beautiful strappy sandals from the back of your closet, find a flirty skirt and head out for brunch with your girlfriends.

Spring Shoe Trends 2014

My top picks for sandals this spring range from pastels to metallics. Lots of straps, intricate cuts, wedges and even laces.

Nude tones are big this coming Spring, and I love the two pairs above. The one of the top row features a great lace detail and could be paired with a dress, skirt or even a pair of jeans. The ones on the bottom have contrasting two tone nude and really beautiful cut outs.

Basic blacks are paired with gold tone metallics, lots of straps and skinny heels. They are elegant, feminine and sexy all at the same time.

For pastels, I am loving mint and aqua. The mint pair on the top row are very Sex and The City; can't you just see Carrie in a white sparkly dress and these beautiful shoes? The wedges on the bottom row, aside from being sky high, are a great pop of color for any outfit be it jeans or a skirt.

Go ahead and get strappy this Spring!

Boho Chic fashion for Spring 2014, #ootd

I have a profound love for gladiator sandals, and a new love for metallic accents. I was always the I never wear gold girl until recently when I realized that gold doesn't have to mean garish. It can mean soft, like rose gold, or old like antiqued.

Then I found other metallics like bronze and copper, and well...the rest is history!

Spring Fashion 2014

There is so much to love about this outfit, even though it's a little more Summer than Spring.

The first item I selected were the bronze shorts from Fashion Union ($16...hello!). The texture is amazing and will distract the eye if you have any issues with showing your legs.

I paired it with a simple black top, something slightly flowy since the shorts are such a stand out piece, then moved right onto accessories.

Cobalt. Blue. Gladiator. Sandals. I absolutely adore these and they are the perfect pop of color to balance out the neutral top and shorts.

For accessories, layered tribal necklaces with turquoise stones and stacked gold and aqua bracelets complete the look. Pops of color all within one color family, then the neutrals. Balance upon balance.

Spring #fashion Trends #ootd

Expect to see lots of soft feminine florals and cuts this spring!

Spring Fashion 2014

Green dress

GUESS by Marciano beige pumps

River Island bracelet
$16 - riverisland.com

I love this combination! The dress is a nod to the cuts of the 50's, but has great detailing with the white nipped collar, and the pattern of the palm leaves. It is feminine and soft, yet unexpected which makes it pretty perfect.

Since the pattern of the fabric is so strong, pair a dress like this with simple nude pumps and a gold bracelet. I chose a bracelet from River Island that has an intricate almost branch like design to compliment the leaves on the dress. At $16, it's a steal!

For the bag, I'm going next to green on the color wheel and opted for a dark plum Michael Kors bag. It also features some gold detailing to compliment the cuff bracelet and nude pumps.

This outfit, in my opinion, would be lovely for a brunch out with your girlfriends, or even a baby shower! Still a little chilly where you are? Add a simple white cardigan, and you're good to go!
