Easter Egg Craft Roundup

Easter Eggs, an iconic symbol. Did you dip dye them as a child? I remember so looking forward to dying our eggs every year; mixing and matching the colors, putting on stickers afreward.

Easter egg crafts have really come a long way over the past few years, and I wanted to share my top 4 picks, found on Pinterest.

I've tried my hand, unsuccessfully, at balloon eggs. I learned my lesson and am ready to try again! These yarn balloon eggs are filled with a special treat, which takes them up to a whole new level of awesome. Magic Balloon Treats

Ombre easter eggs are a new take on the old favorite of dip dying. Once you have your hard boiled eggs ready to go, dip them in the dye cup. Let sit for a bit, then slowly add water, allowing them to sit between layers. For full instructions, go here.

These marbled eggs from Leg Flower Tatto are awesome. I have never seen ones like this before, and think it is such a great sensory learning technique for toddlers.

Gold dipped eggs. I have a slight obsession with the pink and gold colors used here, which is probably why these eggs caught my eye, but I think it would be such a lovely project if you used wooden eggs. The kiddos could certainly help, and they are fresh and trendy for your Easter home decor. Found at Fabulous K.

Have an Easter Egg craft on your blog? Leave me a comment and I'll check it out!

Local Love Monday: A Paper Buffet

I am so incredibly excited to feature this Etsy shop today!!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie, walking the aisles of Angelo's and trying to find an elusive slice of pie or two. I've had the pleasure of sitting with her over coffee and chatting about Etsy, what makes us tick as artists and keep up to date with her {while only living about 8minutes away from one another} on twitter.

Now...I get to share that with you!

What will you find at A Paper Buffet? Only the finest paper creations, from beautiful handmade greeting cards to gorgeous bookmarks, tags, boxes and even nostalgic memory games for kids!

{handmade Mother's Day cards}

Seriously beautiful, right?! What I love about Stephanie is that she sources alot of her papers locally. There's a few great shops in town that she scouts paper at and then turns it into the most gorgeous cards and creations that I have seen in a very long time!

Catch up with Stephanie and A Paper Buffet on Etsy, Twitter and Facebook!

What's Next Wednesday: Christmas!

Yes that's right!!

Halloween isn't even here yet and I'm already gearing up for Christmas!! I'm over-the-moon excited since I'll be participating in my first ever Christmas Bazaar this year, which is a benefit for the London Children's Hospital and London Humane Society (both organizations that are close to this mama's heart)

On my display will be vases of pinwheels in all different colours, masks beyond your wildest imagination, and tall vases with branches...and these lovelies hanging from them

Right now, my studio is pretty organized but I'm needing more space. I think we'll be setting things up a little differently in there, taking out the double bed and putting up a day bed so that I can use under-the-bed space for bins of masks, ornaments and pinwheels for the bazaar!

Need an ornament? They're up on my Etsy shop now! Two styles...plain painted ornaments, and ones with initials!

Want one ready-to-ship? These will be posted after the bazaar...if I don't sell out first!

Y3W Friday: {Paper} Faces on Parade

Masquerade!
Every face a different shade.
Masquerade!
Look around -
there's another
mask behind you!

That's right! This week, I was asked by a lovely photographer to create a mask for an upcoming wedding shoot that she has in the fall.

An amazing opportunity for some really awesome, hand painted designs! I've created them out of a satin mask form, painted with high quality and non toxic artist acrylics, them embellished with a variety of powdered glitters, metallic paint, feathers, gems, ribbons and pearls.

Here's a sneak peek of what I've been creating!

~Snow Princess~

~Bubblegum Cutie~

~Black Widow~

~Autumn Goddess~ this is the mask that will be going to the wedding shoot

~Ice Queen~

So...what do you think?! I've got to say, I'm absolutely in love with them!

Masks will come in two styles; Couture and Basic. The Couture masks will be embellished with feathers, gems, glitter, handpainted designs and ribbons. The Basic masks will be handpainted with optional glitter and gems.

They're all so different and wonderful, and I definitely will be doing a GIVEAWAY for a custom Couture Magnificent Mask in a few weeks!

What was your week like? Can you sum it up in three(ish) words?? Link up with my girl Jenni!
