Maternity Style - ruched stripe dress by Jules et Jim Maternite

A few months ago, I found this beautiful company based out of Quebec, Canada called Jules et Jim Maternite. Founded by two husbands who loved to see their pregnant wives look stylish, trendy and beautiful. Jules liked his wife to be sexy, while Jim preferred a more refined look. A maternity fashion house was born, and boy...is it beautiful!

Last week, I spoke at the Women in Business Conference about style and confidence, specifically how to update your existing wardrobe, be trendy and enter a room with confidence. I was so excited to wear my new Jules et Jim Maternite striped dress, and knew that it would be perfect paired with grey leggings and black boots.

The minute that I slipped into it, I felt amazing. It hugged every single curve, made my belly look amazing, and felt incredibly comfortable. And thankfully, since it was super cold the day of the conference, it was lined.

When I stepped on the stage, I most certainly felt confident. This dress just fit so well that there was no way I was going to not feel amazing in it.

It's true what they say, that when you love what you are wearing you naturally have more confidence in yourself and that exudes to everyone that you meet. Every piece that I have seen in the Jules et Jim Maternite collection, both Spring and Winter, are pieces that will make your feel extraordinary. Their fabrics are stretchy and flatting. The color selections are trendy and current. The patterns are luxurious and the detailing sublime.

If you're looking to update your maternity wardrobe, to hug your curves and make you feel truly exceptional, take a look at Jules et Jim Maternite. They will make you and your baby bump look like the amazing hot mama you are!

Maternity Style: Molly Ades Maternity clothing review

I first met Molly from Molly Ades Maternity last summer at the Land of Nod and Bump Club and Beyond event in Chicago. As soon as I saw her designs, I knew that they would be included in my future maternity wardrobe. With monochromatic grey and black stripes, contrasting piping and funky zippers, this was a unique line of maternity clothing that would really showcase my personal style and flatter my body.

My favourites of Molly's collection are the zippered nursing tank and preggings.

The zippered nursing tank is so comfortable and versatile. I have been wearing it since 10weeks, and it is the perfect staple to have in your maternity wardrobe as it really moves with you. It is long enough to make wearing leggings comfortable {aka, it covers your bum!} and is designed with nursing moms in mind. The contrasting light grey panel behind the tank is a fooler, meaning that when you unzip the zipper, you can easily nurse your baby without having to disrobe completely.

I also love that it can be dressed up or down. Pair it with leggings for day, and then dress it up with a maternity pencil skirt and some heels for a date night out with your spouse! The zippered nursing tank is definitely a staple you will want to have in your maternity wardrobe.

Also essential for your pregnancy are a good pair of leggings. Molly Ades Maternity has designed the most beautiful preggings, leggings for pregnant women, that feature gathered sides and an adjustable panel to carry you through all 9 months of pregnancy, and beyond.

I absolutely love my preggings and they are my go-to pants when I am wanting to pull together an outfit for running errands, but also want to be comfortable. When I first put them on at 10weeks for a prenatal appointment, I was impressed that they fit comfortably over my belly, and that there was still enough fabric from the panel to cover my bum. I paired them with a chambray pullover, and belted it over my belly, then slipped on some riding boots and it was the perfect errand-running outfit. I felt confident, yet comfortable and not restricted.

Now, I wear my preggings just about everywhere. With heels and a sparkly top for a date night, around the house with an oversized tee or my zippered nursing tank, or out running errands with a tunic. They really are the perfect pant for every stage of your pregnancy!

Whether you are in your first, second or third trimester, Molly Ades Maternity has amazing clothing to dress your bump with soft fabrics and functional design. Designed by a mama for us mamas who want a little style in their maternity wardrobe, Molly Ades Maternity is a maternity clothing collection for you!

Maternity Style: Bahamas vacation recap, Babymoon

We just got back from our little Babymoon in the Bahamas and I got my Hubs to take a photo of every single outfit {poor guy!} so I could do a little recap on the blog.

What I have learned during this pregnancy, now in the second trimester, is that I don't have to sacrifice my style just because I am pregnant. I can find pieces that work with my style, budget and trends, be they maternity clothes or not.

My sightseeing outfit for Nassau, Bahamas was pretty basic. Motherhood Maternity turquoise shorts, and a flowy Jennifer Lopez tank. I absolutely LOVE how this tank fits and know that it will be something that I wear post-pregnancy as well. It has a keyhole at the back, and is sheer white on the back as well. Paired with my favourite Steve Madden sandals.

Loving this comfortable ponte dress from Liz Lange Maternity at Target. Rich, beautiful purple color, and lots of room for my bump to grow. I paired it with my favourite suede peep toe booties, and my VHS clutch from my dear friend Tina Dean Designs. It was the perfectly polished look for our formal dinner on night two.

Beach day on Coco Cay was super relaxing! We laid out in the sun for a couple of hours, walked around, had some lunch and then tendered back to the boat to lay around on the pool deck! This skirt from Old Navy is a non-maternity skirt, and is quickly becoming a staple in my wardrobe. It has slits up both sides, which make it nice a breezy for vacationing, and I love that it sits up over my bump with a comfortable elastic waistband. My bathing suit top was super comfy and went well with my skirted ruffle bottoms, both from Target.

I am sure that as my belly grows, my style will change a wee bit, but for now, at 14weeks, I am happily enjoying both maternity and non maternity clothes!
