Greekanese Chicken #recipe with #CuisinartCanada Combo Steam + Convection Oven #athomeinsider

Looking for a healthier way to bake, cook, toast, broil, and do oh-so-much-more? Look no further than the Cuisinart Combo Steam + Convection Oven.

We recently reviewed the Cuisinart Combo Steam + Convection Oven, and I have to say that from set up to clean up, this kitchen appliance is amazing and may even come to replace my traditional convection oven. Why? The power of #cookingwithsteam

What does cooking with steam bring to the table? Well, for meats you can expect a crispy outside, while the inside is moist and tender. For veggies, an easier and less messy way to steam than over a traditional pot of boiling water. For rice, nice and fluffy every time!

During my pregnancy, I have found meat to be a big turn off. The look, the taste, the smell....everything about meat (and, in particular, chicken) has been something that is really scarce in my diet so I wanted to see if the Cuisinart Combo Steam + Convection Oven could change that for me.

Boy, did it ever! I whipped up this easy Greekanese Chicken recipe, and both my husband and I were really impressed with not only the flavor, but how moist and tender the chicken was.

Once you have plugged in your Cuisinart Combo Steam + Convection Oven, fill the water reservoir and put it back in place so it can work its steamy magic. Then choose the Steam + Bake option, and press start.

You will hear the water bubbling and see the steam collecting on the inside of the door. It's such a cool thing to watch!

To prep your chicken, simply toss in Panko bread crumbs that have been mixed with Greek seasoning; I chose the Epicure Tzatiki dip seasoning.  Place your chicken breasts on the baking sheet, then pop in Cuisinart Combo Steam + Convection Oven for the entire cycle.

Once it's done, it's ready to be enjoyed. I had two chicken breasts, on their own, for my dinner and was incredibly impressed with the flavor and moisture of the chicken. My husband cut them up and had the over a simple salad with some Balsamic Fig salad dressing.

If you are looking for a new toaster oven, take a look at the Cuisinart Combo Steam + Convection Oven and invest in flavor, and healthy cooking!

Denny's $4 Breakfast Sandwiches, Fit and Fare! #healthy #Dennys

This weekend on our long drive home from Florida to Ontario, we started our second day of driving with a hearty and healthy breakfast at Denny's in Lexington, KY.

We were really excited to try the new $4 breakfast sandwiches, which come with hashbrowns, and were so pleased to see a variety of options on the new $2 $4 $6 $8 menu - great for when you are traveling and need some quick options.

The standard $4 breakfast sandwich at Denny's is an egg cooked to order, two strips of bacon, shaved ham and American cheese on a toasted english muffin.

We opted for the Fit Fare Breakfast Sandwich, which was loaded with baby spinach, egg whites, turkey bacon, tomato and pepper jack cheese, and came with a side of yogurt and berries, and a cup of fresh fruit. An awesome protein packed and healthy way to start your day!

To say this Fit Fare meal at Denny's was filling was an understatement. The flavours were great, and ever last bite was finished. It was satisfying, and a meal that you won't feel bad about going out for. The best part was the value. A healthy breakfast under $7!

In terms of the $2 $4 $6 $8 Menu, I was really pleased to see a large variety of options; really there is something for everyone. Not super hungry? Opt for the $2 pancakes! Stopping for lunch and want a great option? Get the Southwest Turkey Sandwich and cup of soup for $6! There are options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which suited us perfectly for a quick no fuss breakfast while traveling.

If you are looking for a great breakfast, with loads of value, when you are on the run, check out the new $4 Breakfast Sandwiches at a Denny's near you!

Healthy Eating Out, review of Denny's Fit Fare Menu

You've been invited out for brunch with your friends, and they've picked Denny's. You start thinking of buttery pancakes and bacon, waffles and the ever popular Grand Slam. Then you think of all of the running that you've been doing lately, the pants that finally fit and consider not going for brunch so as to not derail yourself from your healthy goals.

Well! Go get that brunch, girl! Denny's has developed a new Fit Fare menu with delicious options such as the Loaded Veggie Omelette (under 15g of fat, and served with fruit salad on the side!), Fit Slam (under 500 calories) and even a fabulous salad, Cranberry Apple Chicken (also available in half sizes).

Oh and those pancakes that you want to have, but feel guilty about? Check these out

Yes, friends, those are banana pecan pancakes. Made with whole wheat flour, and with a side of egg whites and turkey bacon, this is a DELICIOUS protein packed breakfast that will keep you going all day. Under 15g of fat, and with 8g of fiber, this is an option you won't feel guilty about.

Now when my girlfriends suggest we go for brunch, I have Denny's in mind, knowing that I can get a healthy breakfast at a reasonable price, and not feel guilty for the rest of the day!
