Summer Bridal Shower Inspiration #bridetobe

This coming weekend, I am throwing a beautiful backyard garden party bridal shower for my friend Rebecca, who is getting married this fall. From favors to desserts, signature drinks to infused water...everything is going to be girly, pretty, light and airy.

I've been planning this shower since February, moreso because I wanted to be prepared for it knowing that baby boy would be here about a month prior to the shower, but also because party planning is super fun for me.

Baby Shmizz has been busy designing the printed elements, and I'll reveal all of that next week, but for now...my favorite part of the party...

The flower arrangements will be in various jars, glasses and jugs. Fairly rustic and using flowers that you would typically find in your garden. Nothing fancy, but all lined up in rows down the tables and seating areas to make a statement.

Pink and Gold Bridal Shower

This past weekend, I hosted a pink and gold bridal shower for my future-sister-in-law. The invitations, designed by Barbie Spruill of Sweetpea a la Mode, set the tone for the overall theme for the shower.

From there, all of the elements were coordinated.

Pink and embossed gold cardstock for the dessert buffet tent cards
Dried hydrangeas in glass vases
Pink, gold and white pastries and sweets
Pink grapefruit in the water
Pomegranate juice and orange juice to mix with sparkly gold Champagne

I just love how everything turned out. It was simple and pretty, chic and understated..yet very well coordinated and easily pulled together. The most declious cake, delicate macarons, and irresistible marshmallows! Perfect!

Wondering about the fabulous vendors that I shopped with?

Marshmallows by Kimberley's Kitchen
Wildflower Honey Sticks by Kline Honey Bee Farm
Cake by Leah Taplay
Macarons by Whimsical Bakery
Creme Brulee Lollipops by The Groovy Baker

Bridal Shower Decor Inspiration

Decor is such an important part to setting the overall atmosphere to your bridal shower. For the romantic, vintage, shabby chic bridal shower that I'm hosting in a couple of weeks, I wanted to bring in soft elements into the decor.

When I saw these on Pinterest, I knew that they would provide the perfect bridal shower decor inspiration!

How stunning are they?!

Embroidery hoops, tied with ribbon in the shades of your event. It doesn't have to be perfect, and in my opinion, that adds to the overall charm of them.

Just picture them hanging from the ceiling over top the champagne and dessert tables!

Bridal Shower Inspiration

This month, I am hosting a romantic, vintage, shabby chic bridal shower for my soon-to-be sister-in-law. As soon as I started planning {on Pinterest of course}, I was inspired by this beautiful colour palette

Pink
White
Gold

I first asked the bride what her favourite food and drink are, and started planning from there. She said champagne so I immediately had visions of a champagne bar, beautiful delicate pink desserts and a stunning cake with gold, pink and white details.

In just a few weeks I'll reveal the final dessert table design, ring hoop ceiling decorations and the beautiful champagne bar!

Until then...start dreaming of macarons!

DIY Upcycled Bedsheet Fringed Garlands

A couple of weeks ago, I was brainstorming how to decorate our home for my best friends baby shower.

The theme was a You Are My Sunshine type shower, in grey, white and yellow and I wanted something that was easy, but stylish and something that I could drape in doorways, across our fireplace and our 13' spruce shelf near where guests would be sitting.

What'd I do? I got two double/full size flat sheets, a pair of scissors and I started cutting.

Step 1: pick out your bedsheets

Step 2: cut sections 6" wide and the whole length of the sheet

Step 3: cut thinner strips as accents {or even easier...get yourself some spools of ribbon!}

Step 3: cut your 6" wide sections into strips. Be sure not to cut all the way to the top. You'll be left with a really long fringed piece of fabric {which is awesome in and of itself}

Step 4: tie your thinner strips {and ribbon}

Step 5: swag across door ways, fireplaces, wherever you'd like!

Seriously, one of the easiest things I've done in terms of decor. I tied the yellow and charcoal ribbons on with just one knot so that I can replace them and use the fringed garlands over and over.

Pastels for Easter

Red and gold for Christmas

Orange and black for Halloween

The possibilities are endless from just a simple bedsheet that otherwise would have been thrown away!
