Mama Blogger Monday: My Attempt At Motherhood

Good morning dear readers! Today I have a new Mama to introduce you to, and her super-ridiculously-beautiful-adorable daughter, Quinny!

Meet Andrea from My Attempt At Motherhood! Here's why she blogs and what keeps her fingers on the keys...

Why I Blog and What Inspires Me...
I started blogging to chronicle my first year of motherhood. The first few months I could barely remember my own name, much less my daughter's first month stats, so I figured if I put it all down on paper (keyboard?) I would easily have a way of looking back at all the important milestones that would surely just breeze by us. This was the best decision I have ever made.

My blog gives me a space to brag, vent, complain and most importantly interact with other mamas. I am inspired by every mother who makes it through the day in one piece. Seriously, no one ever warns you how hard it will be to go through one day with a newborn, that includes a shower, food, brushing your teeth and remembering that you have a husband that you should be nice to. I LOVE reading "Mama Blogs". It makes me feel normal, not crazy, and that I am not alone in my everyday struggles. Logging onto Blogger is seriously the best part of my work day (just don't tell my boss that). My now one year old is the star of our lives with a personality that amazes us every single day.

I am so happy to have the opportunity to write about her all I want and that people actually read it. (ok, ok, I have 20 followers, but still. I love every one of them).

Correction...she has 28 followers! But seriously, how ridiculously adorable are she and her daughter?? You can check out their journey and all of Quinn's cutiepie moments over at My Attempt At Motherhood.

Mama Blogger Monday; Building Our Story

Happy Monday everyone!!

Today, I'd like to introduce you to my beautiful friend Censie, from Building Our Story. Censie and I met while we were both trying-to-conceive and had everything baby related on the brain.

She is such a beautiful person, inside and out. A fabulous mama to her son Jude, a wonderful wife to her awesome hubs Jeremy.

Here's what she has to say about why she blogs...

Photobucket

My name is Censie (said like Kenzie) ;) I first started our blog when I was bored at work. I decided I wanted to start some sort of journal. So I did this for awhile and then it turned into our Trying to Concieve (TTC) blog - which then 7 months later turned into OH MY GOSH we are expecting blog!! And now it is a growing little boy blog, a weight loss blog, a baby/toddler review blog, a give-a-way blog, and much more! I continue to blog because I like sharing our story of our life with a little boy. I hope that I can keep up with blogging so when Jude is older he can look back at this blog and see what he did to our lives each day! :O) And maybe soon this blog will turn into a TTC blog again - ummm only time will tell.

I look forward to meeting new followers - I love finding other family blogs to read. Makes me feel normal most days.

Censie also features really awesome giveaways on her blog, so if that's your thing...she's a MUST CHECK OUT! Everything from adorable goodies from yours truly, to rockin' lullabies from Rockabye Baby...if you want to win it, head on over to Building Our Story!

She's also an amazing inspiration, to me in particular. She, like so many other women out there, has struggle with weight and weight loss, and is determined to be slim and trim...but more importantly, happy and confident with her body. She's a MediFast gal, and is doing so incredibly well. I am so proud of her!

Check her out!

Thankful Thursday: Crib Teething Bumpers

Do you have a teething baby? Does he or she like to chew on their crib, leaving nasty marks like these?

Then you, my dear reader, would likely be just as thankful as I am for this lovely creation

It's a Crib Teething Bumper that I got off of Etsy, and that I am incredibly thankful for! Given that Owen's bed converts to a double bed, and likely will be the bed that he (insert tear here) moves out of the house with, I'd like for it to stay in beautiful condition.

Thankfully, we have the crib bumper and no more damage will ensue!

It is absolutely beautifully quilted. You can feel the warmth and love that went into making the product!

You can get one here!! Gail is fabulous to work with!

Thanks, Gail!

Mompreneur Monday: Courtney Price

Good morning everyone! I hope you all enjoyed (and survived) all of the Superbowl Parties yesterday!

This morning, I am very pleased to introduce you to Courtney Price, owner of Glamour Avenue Parties (and you all know how much I love party planning!)

What do you do?
I am the Event Designer and Owner of Glamour Avenue Parties, which is a party planning and design company specializing in children's parties, baby showers, and a variety of small scale events. Along with our event planning coordination, we provide candy buffets, dessert bars, and balloon art decoration in the Houston, Texas area.

Why do you love it?

Glamour Avenue Parties is less than a year old, and I love it because it gives me the flexibility to spend time with my 1 year old son, Aidan. I enjoy my role as a mom and wife but I still want to have an identity outside of those things and this provides me the creative outlet to do so. I have wanted to work as a children's event planner for years and I felt ready to take the chance following the birth of my son in 2009. Additionally, I love that I am constantly learning and challenging myself to succeed as a small business.

What advice do you have for other MOMpreneurs?
My advice for other MOMpreneurs would be to surround yourself with positive and supportive people who will encourage you in all of life's ventures.

Check out Glamour Avenue Parties on their blog, like them on Facebook, follow on Twitter, Youtube and Flickr!

And for being so marvelous, here is your button, Courtney!

It'll Have To Wait...

Due to a very sick little 7month old, blog posts are on hold.

Thank you in advance for your love, thoughts, prayers and understanding as we get our little guy back to his smiling-while-growling self!
