Purpose by Shannon Moyer-Szemenyei at Urban Gallery, #Toronto #art

I write this with an intense amount of nervous anticipation. In just two days, I will be at Urban Gallery in Toronto, Ontario for the opening reception of my art collection Purpose.

It began as a very abstract idea. 18 paintings exploring the theme of Purpose.

What is our purpose? What are we meant to do here while on earth? It turned into something really really spectacular and got deeper and deeper with each new painting that unfolded.
There is a method {and a madness} to each of the pieces, and to say that I have sat back in awe of some of them, and there are a few that I really, really, really don't want to let go of would be an understatement.

I hope to see you out at Urban Gallery for the opening reception, and if I am a ball of nerves...I apologize! I've poured my heart and soul into this collection, and it's like watching your baby take their first step; you're filled to the brim with excitement and pride for them, afraid that they will fall and get hurt, but ultimately know that it's all a part of the growing process and journey.

I can't wait to see what purpose others find in these pieces!

Do Good: Ride To Conqeur Cancer

Throwing this out to the universe in hopes that some might find it in their heart to help my friend {and sister} Sartaj.

She's riding in the Ride to Conquer Cancer for Princess Margaret's Hospital this coming June 9-10th. hen she first messaged me, immediately I wanted to blog about it. I mean...she's getting on a bicycle and riding from Niagara to Toronto, roughly 200km {or 125 miles for some of you}. It's a two day venture, complete with a camp out.

I have to say, I'm insanely proud of her, and hope that you will support her journey.

Her goal? $2500, amazing and ambitious.

What exactly are you supporting? Well...consider that 2 in 5 people will be diagnosed with some form of cancer over their lifetime...you're supporting alot.
