Simple Things Thursday: Rose of Sharon

Today is a post that I write with a heavy heart. I took this picture a couple of week ago, when our Rose of Sharon was just starting to bloom and hadn't yet been plagued with Japanese Beetles.



Two weeks ago, they were just flowers..lovely purple, bright wonderful flowers with a simple beauty.

Now, when I look at them, I think of my friend Christine who passed away suddenly on Sunday. She loved the colour purple...

My heart is heavy, even when looking at the simplest inspiration.
